Napkins woven on a backstrap loom in the state of Chiapas, by a group of 25 women. Cotton thread is woven on a backstrap loom, made of wood. Once the background, which is made of white cotton thread, is raised, the weaving begins. The women tie the loom around their waist and at the end they tie it to a tree to weave the background and the figures.

They are then cut and tied one by one. The entire process is done by hand, and often two different artisans are involved, one weaving and the other tying.
