Meet Jimena Muñoz, from Marengo Flores

- When did your passion for flowers begin?
I was lucky enough to grow up in a house where there were always fresh flowers. I've loved them ever since I was little. I remember always going out with a pair of scissors to cut flowers. At first, it was just a hobby, but I soon realized I could do it professionally and decided to train in this field. It's exciting!
- A project you would like to carry out?
I'd love to do a floral installation like the one for the famous Christian Dior fashion show in Paris. I think it looks amazing! I'd love to put one together someday.
- What type of flower, plant, etc. do you like to work with most? What is your favorite flower?
I really enjoy working with almost any flower. It's great fun seeing the effect each one achieves. I have a hard time choosing just one, and if I'm honest, my taste in flowers changes quite frequently. But I admit I have a real soft spot for ranunculus.
- When it comes to flowers and plants, what is your favorite season of the year?
Without a doubt, autumn. I love the colors of this time of year: oranges, ochres, burgundy... You can create very unique combinations. Plus, autumn is the season for fruits like rosehips. I love using these branches in large arrangements, as they achieve a much more natural effect.
- A piece of floral decoration to always have at home
A bouquet of seasonal flowers, without leaves or anything else, just several stems of the same flower. It decorates any part of the house.
- How did you first discover Katira? What's your favorite piece?
I first met Katira through a client who had asked me for floral arrangements for a dinner party she was hosting at her home. On these occasions, I always ask to see the tableware, linens, glassware, etc., and then decide which flowers to use. When she showed it to me, I loved it so much that I asked where it was from, and it turned out to be all Katira's. It was a real discovery! I love everything they have, but what I love most is their glassware collection—the colors are beautiful. I also love their book collection—definitely a gift!
- How will you decorate your Christmas table this year?
